Risk Assessment

Overview

Your Need

F-Risk-Assessment-188

Many tasks performed by workers who operate or maintain industrial machines present high levels of risk. Only a few factors need to coincide for an accident to happen.

When building, retrofitting or interlinking machines, a systematic technical Risk Assessment provides a mechanism for achieving safety through design or a way for identifying protective measures that reduce the likelihood or degree of possible harm.

In the safety process the importance of Risk Assessment is reflected in the global trend to oblige machine designers and users to conduct a structured assessment in order to comply with various national and international standards and applicable legislations.

What We Do

We take responsibility by working with you to perform a documented physical examination and inspection of a machine, carried out under the guidelines of applicable national and/or international standards. The objective of the assessment is to identify hazards present in the working place, estimate and evaluate the risk, and determine and outline the measures that may apply to reduce the risk.

The result of the Risk Assessment process is used to develop safety concepts and generate safety designs. Risk Assessment includes:

  • Identification of applicable standards, regulations and best industry practises
  • Statement of machine limits
  • Examination of all hazards throughout the relevant machinery lifecycle phases
  • Estimation and evaluation of risk
  • Recommended approach for risk reduction

Your Benefit

Safety improvement on existing machines can be prioritised and implemented based on known risk thereby extending the working life of the machine. Early identification of hazards on new machines will save time and money in the construction of machines by facilitating the integration of appropriate safety measures.

We will support you by drawing from decades of assessing machinery in accordance with applicable legislation and standards and the accreditation from internationally approved bodies including DAR.
